WONT LET ME UNINSTALL TEAMVIEWER APP WINDOWS 10Starting with Windows 10 build 15042, Microsoft has added a new setting which allows installing apps from Windows Store only. He had his home keys, security system, wallet and so much more only in app form with him, and he had never had the idea of taking a backup of his phone. When you try to install an app or program in Windows 10, you may get the warning “ The app you’re trying to install isn’t a Microsoft-verified app“. I should not have done that! His Phone started spammish "App X has successfully been uninstalled" until he had no apps left! it even uninstalled all his apps that he manually installed, and let me tell you, this user is one of those users that seem to collect apps as if they were precious trophies of his. I created a security group called "Uninstall Outlook", added the user to that group, and I noticed that the app did not get uninstalled, so I figured that the main group that installs outlook must have higher status, and won't let the app uninstall, so I thought, "yeah, I'll just temporarily remove him from that group", (the main security group is where all the apps and settings gets pushed, we only use 1 group). I did solve it (kinda.) with the way I was mentioning, however, I took action too fast without thinking, which made it all worse :( I can only imagine what headache this must be on larger setups, fortunately we only have 50 managed android devices. Maybe someday MS will add an uninstall/reinstall button under "Managed Apps" in the Device details. Thus accidently uninstalling an app that didn't need to be on your device(s) you are working on. WONT LET ME UNINSTALL TEAMVIEWER APP MANUALRemove Security Group from App Uninstall sectionĪpp should reinstall at next check-in or manual device syncĭownside to this - If you have a large support team, other techs might be using the same group to perform the same action for another app uninstall at the same time. Remove user or device from Security Group Membership Wait for device to sync and report the app is uninstalled Unfortunately the process you describe above is exactly what you need to take, and yes it takes a long time for this very basic, simple task.Ĭreate a new Security Group with Membership Type "Assigned" ( I have one titled specifically for app uninstalls so i can easily identify it)Īdd your User or Device to that Security GroupĪdd that Security Group to the Uninstall section of the Managed App you wish to uninstall You hit the nail on the head when you said "Janky" lol!. Coming from AirWatch/Workspace One to Intune this has been the most frustrating and mind boggling thing for me as well.
